What it is

Most small business owners have a rough sense that their website isn't pulling its weight, but no way of knowing which part is the problem. Is it slow? Is it invisible on Google? Is it getting visitors who leave without calling? Those are three completely different problems with three completely different fixes, and guessing between them is expensive.

A Blueprint website audit answers that question properly. We run your site through the same industry-standard tooling we use on our own client work, read the results ourselves rather than forwarding you a raw score, and come back with a plain-English summary of what we found and what we'd do about it — in the order we'd do it.

It costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If the honest answer is that your site is fine and your problem is elsewhere, that's what we'll tell you.

What it costs you

Nothing

No fee, no card details, no minimum spend and no obligation to buy anything afterwards. If your site is performing well, we'll tell you that and you'll owe us nothing but the reply.

What we check

Eight things that decide whether your site earns.

Every audit works through the same checks. What changes is which of them turn out to matter for you — and that's the part we tell you.

01

Speed and Core Web Vitals

How fast your site actually loads on a mid-range phone on mobile data — not on a fast desktop connection. Load speed is a direct Google ranking factor and the single most common reason visitors leave before the page finishes rendering.

02

Mobile experience

Whether your site works properly on the screen most of your customers will use: tap targets, readable text without pinching, forms that can be completed one-handed, and a phone number that actually dials.

03

On-page SEO

Title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text and canonical tags — page by page. We flag pages sharing the same title, missing descriptions, or competing with each other for the same search term.

04

Indexing and crawlability

Whether Google has actually indexed your pages, or has found them and decided not to. A page Google knows about but won't index earns you nothing, and this is far more common than most owners realise.

05

Local search signals

Schema markup, NAP consistency, service-area coverage and whether your site gives Google enough to connect you to the towns you actually work in.

06

AEO readiness

Whether your content is structured so AI assistants can quote you as an answer. A growing share of local searches now end in an AI summary, and unstructured sites simply don't get cited.

07

Conversion path

What a visitor is actually asked to do, how many taps it takes, and where they're most likely to give up. Plenty of sites rank fine and still convert badly.

08

Competitor comparison

How your site stacks up against the businesses currently ranking above you locally — because 'good enough' is relative to who you're competing with.

Findings, ordered by impact

  1. 01CriticalEffort: Medium

32 of 41 pages are not indexed by Google

Google has found these pages and chosen not to index them, most likely because they are near-identical to one another. Pages that aren't indexed cannot rank for anything at all.

  2. 02CriticalEffort: Medium

Homepage takes 7.4s to become usable on mobile

Most visitors leave well before that. Load speed is also a direct ranking factor, so this suppresses visibility and conversion at the same time.

  3. 03HighEffort: Low

Six pages share the same title tag

Your service pages are competing with each other for the same search term, which splits their strength instead of concentrating it. Each needs its own target.

  4. 04HighEffort: Low

No LocalBusiness schema anywhere on the site

Google is inferring your location, hours and contact details rather than being told them — and AI assistants have nothing structured to quote you from.

  5. 05MediumEffort: Low

Phone number is an image, not a link

On mobile it can't be tapped to dial. Visitors have to memorise it and switch apps, and a meaningful share of them simply won't.

  6. 06LowEffort: High

Service area pages cover 4 of your 11 towns

Not costing you anything today, but it's the clearest growth opportunity once the indexing problem above is resolved.

What we'd do first

  1. 1Fix the duplicate titles and thin service pages — this is what's blocking indexing, and it's cheap to do.
  2. 2Get the homepage under two seconds on mobile. Most of that is image weight and render-blocking scripts.
  3. 3Add LocalBusiness and Service schema, and make the phone number a real tel: link.

Points 1 and 3 are things a competent developer can do in an afternoon, and we'll tell you that rather than quoting for them. Point 2 is the one worth talking about.

This is a mock-up for illustration only. "examplebusiness.co.uk" is not a real business and every figure and finding shown here is invented to demonstrate the format. Your own audit will report what we actually find on your site — including, where it applies, that nothing significant is wrong.

Why ours is worth having

A person reads it before you do.

Industry-standard tooling

We use the same tools the industry runs on — Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse, GA4 and established SEO crawlers. No made-up proprietary score designed to look alarming.

Read by a person, not a robot

Automated audits flag hundreds of issues and rank them by nothing useful. We read the output ourselves and tell you which three things actually matter for your business, and which forty you can safely ignore.

Proven, hands-on experience

We build and rank sites for small businesses and tradespeople every week. The recommendations come from work we've actually done, not a checklist we downloaded.

We won't sell you something you don't need

If your site is sound, we'll say so. If the fix is something you can do yourself in an afternoon, we'll tell you how. We would rather be the people who gave you a straight answer than the people who sold you a rebuild you didn't need.

How it works

Four steps, one of which is optional.

Step 1

You send us the link

Your website address and a sentence about what you'd like it to do better. That's the whole form.

Step 2

We run the audit

We work through the checks above using industry-standard tooling, then review the findings ourselves. This usually takes a few working days.

Step 3

You get the findings

A plain-English summary of what we found, ranked by what would make the biggest difference first — including the things you can fix yourself.

Step 4

You decide what happens next

Nothing, if that's the right answer. There's no follow-up sales sequence and no obligation of any kind.

Request your audit

Send us the link. That's the whole ask.

Your website address, a way to reach you, and a sentence about what you'd like it to do better. We'll come back within a few working days with what we found.

The small print

The Blueprint website audit is completely free and carries zero obligation. There is no fee, no minimum spend, no card details required, and no commitment to purchase anything afterwards. We will never try to sell you a service you don't need — if your website is performing well, we will tell you that plainly. You are free to take our findings and act on them yourself, or do nothing at all.
