Local SEO for Small Businesses & Tradespeople
Get found by people searching for what you do, where you do it.
When someone nearby searches for your service, three things decide whether they find you: your Google Business Profile, your website, and what other sites say about you. Local SEO is the work of getting all three pointing in the same direction.
Most small businesses have a half-finished Google listing, a website that never mentions the towns they actually cover, and no idea how many enquiries either one brings in. That's the gap we close.
It works best on a site we've built, because the structure is already there — service pages, location pages, schema, clean internal linking — and we're not fighting a template to add them. We'll take on an existing site too, but the first job is usually fixing foundations somebody else laid badly.

Five workstreams, pointing the same way.
Local SEO isn't one lever. It's the work of getting several things to agree with each other — which is exactly why doing one of them in isolation so rarely moves anything.
Your Google Business Profile
Claimed, verified and filled in properly: the right categories, a complete service list, real photos, correct opening hours, and regular posts. This is what puts you in the map results at the top of the page — and it's the pillar most businesses have half-finished.
Your website
Pages for the services you offer in the areas you cover, marked up so Google can read your location, hours and contact details without guessing. Fast on mobile, with a phone number that actually dials rather than sitting there as text somebody has to copy out.
Your listings elsewhere
Your name, address and phone number matching across Bing, Apple Maps, Yell and the trade directories that matter for your industry. Inconsistencies here hold you back quietly — nothing visibly breaks, you just don't rank as well as you should and never find out why.
Your reviews
A simple system for asking customers at the right moment, and a reply written to every one. Review volume, rating and recency are ranking signals as well as trust signals, which makes this the highest-leverage habit available to most local businesses.
Local links and content
Sponsorships, community mentions and write-ups of jobs you've actually done — the things that show Google you're genuinely part of the area rather than a business name with a postcode attached to it.
Built on a site we built.
Local SEO on a Blueprint-built site starts several steps ahead. The service and location page structure already exists, the schema is already correct, internal linking is already deliberate, and pages are pre-rendered so Google can read them in full on the first pass. The work goes straight into growth rather than into fixing foundations.
We take on sites we didn't build too — a fair amount of our work is exactly that. But we'll be straight with you if the existing site is holding you back more than the SEO can make up for. Sometimes the honest answer is that a rebuild costs less than years of working around a bad foundation, and sometimes it isn't. The free audit is how we tell which.
Worked example — Siran Gardening
A brand new domain with no history, no backlinks and no authority — the hardest starting position there is. Built with 18 service pages and a location structure covering six core areas, linked so authority moves between them rather than pooling on the homepage.

traffic increase in month one
enquiry per day on average
Everything in an ongoing programme.
Rolling monthly — cancel any time with 30 days' notice. No minimum term, no lock-in contract.
Local SEO is priced per business, because the work needed by a single-town sole trader and a business covering fifteen towns genuinely isn't the same. We'll quote you properly after the audit rather than pull a number out of the air.
Enquiries, not a spreadsheet of rankings.
We set up tracking so you can see the numbers that matter: calls, WhatsApp messages and form enquiries, and where each one came from. Every month you get a plain-English report — not a wall of keyword positions, but how many people found you and how many got in touch.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. Rankings are a means to an end, and it's entirely possible to move a lot of them without moving a single enquiry. We'd rather report the thing you actually care about.
What we won't promise
We won't promise you a number one position. Local results change depending on exactly where the searcher is standing — a rank checked from one postcode says very little about the next street. Anyone guaranteeing you a position is either guessing or hoping you won't check.
What we will do is make you visible to more of the right people, and show you the evidence. If the evidence isn't there, we'd rather you knew that too.
What extra visibility is worth.
Local SEO is a compounding asset, not a monthly advert — the rankings you build this quarter keep working next year. The worked example below uses round numbers; substitute your own average job value.
| Scenario | Monthly value | Annual value |
|---|---|---|
| 2 extra enquiries per month converting at 50% (£300 average job) | £300+ | £3,600+ |
| 4 extra enquiries per month converting at 50% (£300 average job) | £600+ | £7,200+ |
| Ongoing Local SEO (illustrated at £150/mo) | £150 | £1,800 |
| Net return at just two extra enquiries a month | £150+ | £1,800+ |
Two extra enquiries a month covers the cost. Unlike paid ads, the visibility you build doesn't disappear the moment you stop — it decays slowly, which is why starting early matters more than spending hard.
These figures are a worked illustration using round numbers, not a forecast or a guarantee. Your own return depends on your average job value, your conversion rate and your local competition — we'll happily run the same maths with your real numbers on a call.
